What are Biosun ear candles?
Biosun ear candles are handcrafted wellness products made in Germany from 100% natural ingredients including organic cotton, pure beeswax and carefully selected essential oils. They have been used in natural health therapy for decades and are trusted by practitioners in over 36 countries.
What makes Biosun different from other ear candles?
Biosun is the original ear candle brand, founded in 1985. They are the only ear candle with a patented safety filter (patented in 19 countries including Australia) which prevents any residue from entering the ear canal. All ingredients are regularly tested at an independent laboratory in Germany and are 100% natural and pesticide-free.
What varieties are available?
We stock four varieties: Traditional (Honey, Sage & Chamomile), Wellbalance (Lavender, Rosemary & Gurjun), Wellmotion (Lemongrass, Eucalyptus & Lime) and Wellharmony (Orange, Grapefruit & Tangerine). Are Biosun ear candles safe?
When used correctly and following the included instructions, Biosun ear candles are safe for adults and children. They should not be used by anyone with a perforated eardrum, ear grommets, or an active ear infection. If you have any concerns, please consult your GP or natural health practitioner before use.
Are they suitable for children?
Yes, Biosun ear candles are suitable for children when used by a responsible adult following the instructions carefully.
Using Ear Candles
How do I use Biosun ear candles?
Ear candling should always be done with a partner — never alone. Lie down on your side on a flat surface with your head supported so the ear canal is vertical. Insert the lit candle gently into the ear canal with a slight twisting motion. Hold it loosely and keep it as vertical as possible. Remove and extinguish in a glass of water when the candle burns down to 1cm above the red line. Never burn below the red line. Full instructions are included with every pack.
How long does the process take?
Each candle burns for approximately 10-12 minutes. A full session treating both ears typically takes 25-30 minutes.
Can I use ear oil with the candles?
Yes — our Mullein Garlic Ear Oil is an excellent companion product. Applying a few warm drops before ear candling helps soften earwax and can enhance the effectiveness of the session.
How often should I use ear candles?
This varies depending on the individual. Many people use them once or twice a month as part of a regular wellness routine. For specific ear concerns, consult a natural health practitioner for guidance.

Where are you based?
We are a Melbourne family business based in Malvern East, Victoria. We have been the official Australian distributor of Biosun ear candles for over 20 years.
How quickly will my order be dispatched?
We dispatch same business day for orders placed before 2pm AEST Monday to Friday. Orders placed after 2pm or on weekends are dispatched the next business day.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. All orders are sent via Australia Post with full tracking.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes — local pickup is available from our Malvern East store Monday to Friday, 10am-3pm. Please contact us before coming in.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. Please note that customs duties or import taxes may apply depending on your country — these are the responsibility of the buyer.
I haven't received my order — what should I do?
Please check your tracking number via Australia Post's website first. If your parcel appears lost or significantly delayed, contact us at backup@1800earcandle.com and we will follow up with Australia Post on your behalf.
